Part 3C: Sights on and from the Schloßberg (Continued)
![]()
There are several major structures on the Schloßberg, such as a high bell tower that was part of the Medieval and later church complexes that in turn were part of the fortress complex.
However, I liked the scenery better than the ruins and even the large tower I failed to photograph, and will leave it to you to search them out on the Internet if you really desire to see them.
I got downright excited with the scenery on my downward path after the fort on the north end of the hill. The greenery was overwhelming:

Sooner than I desired, the path brought me back toward the clocktower:

This meant I was coming down a bit faster than I thought I wanted to, but, hey, there were great views of the city from this side:

Almost at roof level:

Speaking of roofs, I listened to a woman explain to her friends that this building had moved with earth movements along the river over the last century and it had bent with the strain, which seems plausible since no one would design in such curvature (makes it much more expensive to build):

Notice that church at the end of this bent bulding, we will stop there for a minute, but that is part of my walk back to the train station so it must await the next page.
