A Walk in Golden Canyon: Part 2

Before we approach Red Cathedral, we come to a fork in the trail, the one to the right goes to Zabriskie Point:

Here is the distances sign:

We are 2/3ds of the way, have gained 500 feet, are approaching Red Cathedral, and will take some looks around before we head up to it, it is quite pretty (though hot) here:

Notice the vegetation in the next photo?

These peaks are visible from Zabriskie Point:

At this point, the red wall that is Red Cathedral is also plainly visible:

The trail narrows considerably, and provides some shade in the process:

With the walls so close my watch read 111 Fahrenheit, so the shade in this part of the trail was very welcome and led to some rest pauses:

And finally, after a few more twists and turns, the central part of Red Cathedral looms:
