A Walk in the Panamint Range: Part 2

Being quite tired, I am anxious to get my view of Telescope Peak and turn around.  I meet a young couple on the way down and they assure me the turn I am looking for is just 20 minutes ahead.  35 minutes later, I reach it, and am out of the trees and can look back and see Wild Rose peak across the saddle from whence I began this walk:

But as I make that last turn, I am in trees again and can finally see Telescope peak:

The trail now continues up and to the right, so that I re-enter sunny space:

As I come up to a crest on the trail, I can see where the trail now goes: it dips down and comes back up on this first mountain, then turns left onto the second mountain, then finally goes to Telescope peak, as the next two photos try to show:

But this is as far as we go this time.  Sorry, so here is a view back to Telescope peak as we start back down:

AS we make the turn to go back down the trail, it is evident that the sun is setting even in the valley far below us:

As it gets darker, the views continue to be interesting, this one shows Golden Canyon again (where the light rock touches the darker red rock far below, above the "0" on "05"):

Soon I am back to the parking area and am surprised by a sunset still being in progress here in this divide:

So now we meander back to Furnace Creek, but we will still see something else before we leave this mountain range.
