
A Walk in the Panamint Range: Part 3

I raced past these kilns on the way up because I wanted to see Telescope peak before dark. But I was surprised to still be able to see them on my way out:


Looking the other way gives the benefit of the sun's last rays (for the day):

We will go inside one, look at its vent, its wall, and come back out:




The smell of creosote and burning were quite strong inside.
The above photo shows that, while inside, the sun has finally set. That means the end of the day for me.

From here it is straight 'home' to the hotel and getting some sleep to be ready for the next day's meetings.
