PART 3
Red Rock Crossing on a Sunny Day
![]()
The following day, before the thunderstorms grew all around us, we spent some hours at Red Rock Crossing, this time getting there by car from the west and paying a park fee for the privilege.
The view of Cathedral Rock was tremendous as we walked to the river through the park:

And when we got into Oak Creek, the view was even better, here is the view north at that stupendous rock formation once we got into the middle of the creek:

To get here we had to traverse some extremely slippery slime-covered red rock (I fell and hurt my head, most adults took no chances and crawled across--they had brains!)
To the south, the creek ran through more red rock:

That white shirt on the left belonged to Aubree, one of our granddaughters, who had a great time sliding on the slickened rock with the current:

She also found some deeper water to really swim in, with a friend:

It was hard to keep ones' eyes away from that view in the distance, however:

We hated to leave this place, but grandpa, the "sorehead," wanted to hit two more destinations before heading home again.

So we said goodbye to the people and the place:

Join us on our next two adventures: Montezuma's Castle and Tuzigoot National Monuments.
