
Part Five
The denouement: after the top, scenes from the descent.

Turns out that while on top I ran low on battery, not disk space, so coming down I took the camera out of the cold and kept it on my chest under my shirt (it was cold), taking it out only to use it. The warmth allowed the batteries to keep functioning, all the way back to the bottom!
So, what did we see along the way down? Scenes like this that really do not need commentary:




One spot was particularly colorful, even with the very light rain and subdued, low-angle sunlight:

Almost got so carried away with the trail that I forgot that there were also good fall views on the way back down (and a granddaughter getting her second wind thinking of a gift shop coming up, where she bought rocks! What a bright child!):

The final few shots show the Visitors Center (home of a restaurant, restrooms, and a gift shop, in low light, and the main falls behind it, plus a smaller fall on the other side of the same canyon:


At this point, we are heading for the parking lot and a nice dinner down the road in Hood River, Oregon.
