December in Brussels

Two days, mid-December 2005, in Brussels

Part 3: Festival at St. Catherines

I intended to re-take my previous St. Catharine Church pictures, with the same outcome: the Christmas carnival and lights made it all look different, and delightfully so.  I had my Birthday dinner at several food and stands along the square. (PIctures show a date that is a day later then it really was, the camera was confused).

In the other direction was this ferris wheel.

Why is this such a short page?  It began to earnestly rain.  Next morning as I was leaving it snowed, delaying my flight an hour for de-icing.  Living in Las Vegas, one forgets about these realities of Winter life in other places!

So what was all of this official fun, that goes on for weeks here in this colorful town called?  'Winter Pleasures' (in French and Dutch, the two official languages of Brussels, below).
