This is the story of a family, told by one member of that family.
A woman named Pyrene, called Piri for short.
She lived in what is now Spain at the time of the great war
between the Romans and the Carthaginians.
This story was scratched onto thin lead sheets, as was the
custom of the time. She hid them in a cave.
They were found by a monk, almost exactly 1500 years later.
His translation of the story was buried during the Black Death.
Six hundred fifty four years later his account was found.
It was again translated, and made available on the Internet.
