On the previous page's picture, you can see that there are
three major sedimentary rock layers underneath the peak
that is the day's target. The first is
beneath us, a PreCambrian
sedimentary rock, The second is a rather loose washout from
Rock Canyon itself. Then comes a consolidated sedimentary
rock layer.
Finally, the peak is a shallow sea's limestone from
Mississippian time.
