On the previous page's picture, you can see that there are three major sedimentary rock layers underneath the peak that is the day's target. The first is beneath us, a PreCambrian sedimentary rock, The second is a rather loose washout from Rock Canyon itself. Then comes a consolidated sedimentary rock layer. Finally, the peak is a shallow sea's limestone from Mississippian time.

The reason I put the car door in the picture above is because from the top of that peak I intend to take a picture of the car.

But, into Rock Canyon we now go, and on the right side of the canyon the limestones reach right down to the floor, once we get past the poorly consolidated outwash sediments that is.
