| As we continue up the main canyon trail, the views are very pleasant. I saw a few people rock climbing in the first quarter mile, and some hikers about a half mile back in, coming out. Other than that a lot of rustling in the bushes let me know I had been seen and not appreciated. In one tree a squirrel dropped a nut right by me, scaring me. | ||||||||

Insects? A few flies, grasshoppers, hornets galore
where there was water, and this Utah native and its cousins
were the ones I remember. Deer? Two crossed in a blind panic just a few feet ahead of me on the trail. Scared me worse than that falling nut. |
