Here is where our friends, Beatrice and Barthelemy, were taken after their capture at Mas-Saintes-Puelles. They were kept, while being questioned repeatedly, in an upper set of rooms in the complex of buldings that supported the Bishop and his entourage, all of them engaged in the purification work of the Inquisition.

This is a view of the city from the cemetery:

Today there is little left from olden times except a few Medieval towers. So except for the cemetery, where we know the two were brought for public sentencing, there is little to show. Downtown is quite modern:

Not far from this square sits an old gate that no longer serves a purpose:

There is an old tower that dates back to the time of our friends, as does part of the church that dominates downtown:

There is nothing in the cemetery to commemorate the fate of our friends or their predecessors in this cemetery. But it is a lovely and peaceful place nevertheless:

The city used to have a castle, where it stood is now a park with nice views of the surrounding area:

If you look carefully, you can see the Pyrenees under the clouds in the next shot:

The church just below where the castle stood is quite recent:

After Pamiers, our two friends were taken to "the Wall." A large prison facility in the town of La-Tour-du-Crieu, a suburb a few miles away. The dark fortress has been completely removed over time, and in its place stands a city square with large trees and the old city church behind it.
